The Courtyard House redefines urban residential living by reversing the traditional relationship between interior spaces and the exterior environment. Enclosed within a minimalistic concrete shell, the dwelling focuses inward on a serene, open-to-sky courtyard that acts as the heart of the home, bringing natural light and ventilation to every room.
Inspired by brutalist principles but softened with warm timber and native landscaping, the project aims to create a private sanctuary in a high-density neighborhood. The material palette was kept intentionally raw and monochromatic to emphasize the changing patterns of light and shadow throughout the day.
